Nano buyers to be told not to instal LPG kit

Tata Motors has advised its dealers to instruct Nano buyers not to fit the car with an LPG kit. A communication sent last week says this has to be one of the primary instructions to
buyers at the time of delivery of the car.
Tata Motors’ head of corporate communication, Debashis Ray, said, “Indeed, customers are being advised not to fit such kits available in the market. The Nano has been launched with a pertol engine.”
Any move to fit an LPG kit would result in severe loss of mileage and disturb the drive dynamics of the car, said a Tata Motors dealer. “The car is already giving good mileage (over 20 km to a litre) and there is no need to tamper with it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors said that about 300,000 people had visited 400 showrooms across the country since the Nano went on display on April 1.
The company would be announcing the allotment of 1,00,000 cars in the first phase of deliveries within
60 days of the closure of bookings.
These allotments will be guaranteed the launch prices till delivery is made. In the past two weeks, the Nano website, got 20 million hits.
